This story didn't just pop up one day, or may be it did. For over 50 years Jenny beasley, founder, crafted in many capacities. She was influenced by a mother who sewed and quilted, an aunt who made crafts when she was growing up, by an adult sister in law who was a wedding coordinator and made and sold crafts during her childhood years.

Jenny always explored art through the reuse of materials around her house, very little money was spent on art because she was told it was for fun. And YES it was FUN, it became so much of how she lived in her spare time without realizing the value it gave her emotionally. Through out her adult life it has been the source of enjoyment and release yet she still felt it was just for fun. She created and sold her wares in stores, malls and other venues. Often "crafting" with other women and children in her home. It sustained her in the lowest moments, it helped her provide extra income to her family, and she learned that she was not the only women who believed it was just for fun.

The message of community, creativity and conservation was being spoken into her. It wasn't until she realized that message had been building with in her and teaching her that the one thing she was called to do was to share the gift that art had

given her through out her life.

Being Creative is within every human. It is what gives us a voice in the world. And we have somehow silenced that voice. We have given way to thinking that the arts are just play. One day she walked in to a store in Austin, it took her breathe away, for several moments she stood in awe. A place that created a storm inside her, one that was always simmering finally erupted. A Creative ReUse store, she had been doing this most of her life. ReImagining Waste into Value.

This took her by such surprise and so much passion filled her heart that she could not calm the storm. She began to listen to her creative soul, what shall I do she said?

The heart of this organization is not a store, through sharing we have learned that ARTABLE CURIOSITIES is something that provides a voice to the silenced. It is a unique experience that provides the community an affordable means for creativity.

Jenny will not do this alone, her vision is to create a community that sees the value this has to the community and partners with her.
